Seasons of Life

For the past couple of weeks I have been suffering pain with my teeth. I visited the dentist 4 or 5 times and each time I get enough pain for days ahead. This is how week we are! A tooth may make our life painful n tasteless! I could not eat well for a number of days. By Allah, we need to humble ourselves for our creator to look after us and ease our life. Without his Mercy, one's life may become truly miserable. Today, I was talking to a friend of mine in Canada. We were close to each other during my living at Surrey. He sounded unhappy and saddened. Actually, he was so inflicted by hardship to the extent he is desiring not live anymore! While hearing to him I remembered the verse where Allah tells us that he created us in hardship! So, this is life! It somewhat resembles the four seasons! It does not stay at one face! It keeps changing. Thus we need to accustom ourselves to this simple fact. We need to bear its bad weather to enjoy its good weather. and it is okay to feel down! We all do! just take life lightly and less seriously and let's all remember whenever we confront a turmoil that it will pass and won't stay for ever. Let's train ourselves to see the good in every situation! Let's read and interpret life events in ways that make us feel good and live well. Wish you success and happiness. Be well :)

Opportunity in every difficulty!

The other day I was driving my car at Khobar heading to my training workshop. At one of the traffic lights I read on a huge signboard the following statement

"An Optimist sees an opportunity in every difficulty, a pessimist sees a difficulty in every opportunity"

Indeed, it is us who give meaning to what we experience. How we feel, how we think, determine how we behave. To better ourselves and live life fully, we need to focus inwardly to ensure that we have the right set of thoughts and beliefs that enable us feel better and work better. The decision is ours.

Tidy! Good Job!

Today, early morning i wanted to go for a walk in the neighbourhood. My eyes were struck by an astonishing scene ... a high-ranked officer in his official suit driving a Mercedes Benz open the window of his car to simple throw an empty pack of cigarette. I stopped and without hesitation my facial expression along with my two hands extended in front of me signaled to the driver my astonishment and disagreement of what he did. What really shocked me the most maybe because y to I did not expect it that the high-ranked officer stopped his car and decided to reverse to the point where he threw the empty pack then he got off his car to pick it up from the street then he approached me to shake hands and thanked me in a gentle and respecting tone. I felt speechless for second then I exchanged with him my deep appreciation of his act.

I learned many things out of this encounter. First, I learned that each one of us can make a difference by doing what he is supposed to do. I would've walked and ignored the scene. But out of my sense of responsibility I decided to act now! Results are not to us! We need to take it personally ... this is a title of a nice book authored by the founder of Body Shop.

Secondly, I learned that people are good! They want to do good! They may forget but will be happy to be reminded to do the right thing. This may not be the case every time we try to change things around us. But certainly it is worth trying provided we do it in a good way; in a way that enable positive response. I got a feeling that this incidence may leave a permanent trace inside this person to become an advocate for the good. Anyhow, we need to take it personally and engage in good act to command good in a nice and wise fashion. Good change will come!

Although I may not meet this high-ranked officer again, but I feel so good about him and from the bottom of my heart I thank him for his positive and gentle act.

I'm Back!

WOW! the last time I make a post was two months ago! That is too long! My apologies to my readers whom I don't know. Maybe because I rarely get any responses to my posts made me less enthused to keep on writing! Anyhow, I will be grateful to you to tell me what do you think about what you read and to share with me your thoughts.
Life has turns and surprises; good and bad. However, it is up to us to benefit by both and learn from what we experience. Life is a big school. With you wanting to learn, it is the best teacher! We hate to do mistakes! who does! but these mistakes will teach us a lot and will enrich our experience and eventually will be us better decision-makers. So, keep on moving, trying new venues, meeting new people, learning and doing... this will make you growing. And Always smile and take life less seriously! Be well and enjoy whatsoever Allah has bestowed upon you. You have so many gifts, enjoy them and praise Allah for them. Love you all!

We all do mistakes

Yes, we all do! why do we deny it? Denial prevents us from learning and growing. In any situation, no way that the fault rests on one side only. Each person bears some responsibility to what had happen. The true stupidity is to do the same mistake over and over with out learning the lesson to do better each time. I am surprised that some people wrong others for no reason but envy then they demand forgiveness as if it is a right for them. Surprisingly, when they try to fix up what wrong they inflected on others, they do it wrong as well. I believe the the real change comes from within. Faking being nice won't work! People will find out or at least will feel it. Let's be truly nice to one another. Life becomes more fulfilling and enjoying! When we see good in others' life, let's be happy for them! Envy is a negative energy that destroy the one who is ailed by envy and it will certainly damage the relationship. Let's free our heart from envying one another and instead let's fill it up with the desire to see others growing and living their lives happily. Even, let's contribute in making others happy. By doing so, we will be happier! Wish you all very happy life in this life and in the hereafter.

Happy Eid ... Seeking Happiness

Tonight marks the beginning of a festival after the completion of fasting and praying the nights of Ramadan. It is called Eid Al Fitr. It is intended to thank Almighty Allah for enabling us the complete the fasting of the wholly month of Ramadan. It is a time to rejoice and be happy for such a special achievement. People spend ample time with their families and visiting their parents, siblings, friends, and neighbours. Happiness is what people are trying to attain during these days by wearing new clothes, giving gifts and money to their relatives especially to kids and women. Surprisingly, you will find everyone buy a lot of sweets of all kinds and colors but at the same time they don't eat them. Try out visit someone and just observe that no will eat these sweets. Anyhow, it is a bit weird to me but i do understand the reason because they are afraid of getting sick! Happiness! what is happiness? is it wearing new clothes ... is it the new car you bought last week to show off before your peers and relatives ... it is the new big house you moved to ... what is the point of having all that but you fail to enjoy life in its simple form! enjoy having healthy relations! being rich is not about having more ... i would say it is about demanding less .. yes, when we live simple life anything will make us happy ... even simple things! people nowadays are in the business of looking at others and racing with them to get more that what they got!! The more we ponder over what we have and be grateful of the bounties God has bestowed upon us the better we feel and the better we live. So, let's enjoy what God has given us without looking at others and let's be more generous in any way possible to us then life will become more meaningful and more joyful. Happy eid to everyone. I love you all

Rasing Kids - a TV Show

last month, i had the opportunity to make a TV program on the subject of raising children (the focus was on boys) to become the men of future. It was a 16 episodes program and was shot at Amman Jordan. A new venture for me that I found it enticing and engaging. I look forward to making more programs with focus on family and children related subjects. I don't claim to be a distinguished knowledgeable person on these subjects yet I am confident that what I have learnt and experienced myself will be of benefit and value to others thus I want to share what I learnt and practiced. Let's all do the same ... let's keep up learning, practicing what we learnt, and sharing the value we get so we contribute to spreading good ... would you please share with me a piece of wisdom or lesson you have learnt in life pertaining these two subjects; family and raising kids! Your thoughts will be of value to me.
